This Expanded NRA FIRST Steps Rifle course is dedicated solely to the AR-15 platform, or the Modern Sporting Rifle. It is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper operation of your AR-15 and includes classroom presentations and live fire exercises on an outdoor range. Students will learn about the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; parts and operation of the AR-15; ammunition; optics and accessories, shooting fundamentals; and disassembling, cleaning, and re-assembling the rifle. Rifle ownership is required; prior shooting experience is not required.
