NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course

This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition knowledge and selection; rifle selection and storage; shooting fundamentals; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development. Completion of the NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination is required. Additionally, students will receive live fire training by NRA Certified Instructors. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Rifle Shooting, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet. Course completion certificates will be issued as evidence of successfully completing the training. Rental firearms and ammunition are available for a nominal fee and must be reserved in advance.
