This course teaches the basics necessary for the safe use of a rifle for target shooting. This course is approximately nine hours long and includes classroom and range time. Topics covered: general firearms safety, gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; range rules; shooting fundamentals; shooting at fixed targets from multiple shooting positions and much more. All classroom materials will be provided. Student Required Items: Small caliber rifles recommended (Ruger model 10/22 or AR-Platform 223/556 are best suited for this course) If you are unsure if the rifle you have is okay in the course send us an email. Your UNLOADED Rifle, (you may bring a second UNLOADED rifle if you like) 50 rounds of ammo for each firearm. Extra Magazine if applicable Eye and ear protection.
