NRA Defensive Pistol

Designed for those with a carry license who have not taken the NYS required course, the goal of this course is to develop a defensive mindset, and the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry and use a concealed pistol ethically, responsibly, and with confidence. Topics include: how to apply the NRA Rules for Safe Gun Handling when carrying a concealed firearm, basic principles of concealment, the use of cover & concealment, drawing from a holster, levels of mental awareness, developing the proper mindset when using a pistol for personal protection, clearing common stoppages, use of pocket pistols. Range shooting includes timed drills & qualification. Successful completion earns an NRA certification. Students provide: gun (minimum 9mm or .38 Spl), proper OWB holster, 3 magazines or speedloaders, 300 rounds ammo, 10 dummy rounds of correct caliber, safety equipment, cover garment, lunch/snacks/beverage.
