The Personal Protection in the Home course is for law-abiding adult citizens who can show mastery of basic safe gun-handling, shooting, and cleaning firearms skills. You will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety, responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, choosing a handgun for self-defense, and opportunities for further skill development. Students must bring their pistol, an extra magazine, at least 120 rounds, a holster (NO Serpa), eye and ear protection, a baseball hat, and snacks/drinks/lunch. All else will be provided. Prerequisite: NRA Basic Pistol Certificate, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program (Pistol Discipline), Pistol Qualification Card, Military DOD with Pistol Qualification, or pass the pre-course qualification (contact Dan).
