This 8-hour course equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitude to train and supervise NRA Range Safety Officers and develop range standard operating procedures. Ideal for experienced shooters involved in target shooting, training, and range supervision. Topics covered include range safety, range procedures, inspections, emergency protocols, firearm malfunctions, and safety briefings. Students demonstrate teaching and organizational skills through practical exercises and an open-book exam. Participants receive NRA Basic Range Safety Officer lesson plans and student packets. Prerequisite: Must be an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer, at least 21 years old, and have completed Basic Instructor Training (BIT) within the last two years. Those who need BIT, the cost is $100.
