This 10-hour course is designed for instructor candidates who must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attitude required to teach the full NRA Basic Pistol course. Topics include fundamentals, target scoring, marksmanship, shooting positions, maintenance, storage, and ammunition for SOA/DAO revolvers and semi-automatic handguns. Candidates must pass the Instructor Exam and shoot Level 4 at 45 feet. Basic firearm safety and shooting skills are prerequisites. BIT will be done on 11/23/25 Before training, candidates must complete the NRA Basic Pistol course with Level 4 qualification, submit a pre-course questionnaire, demonstrate firearm experience in pre-course assessments, and have completed Basic Instructor Training (BIT) within the past two years.
