The NRA Range Safety Officer course is a 9-hour RSO course. You must be at least 21 years old to take this course. The RSO course content consists of RSO's roles and responsibilities, range standard operating procedures, range inspection and range rules, firearm stoppages and malfunctions, and Range Safety Briefings which include procedures to follow in the case of an emergency. NRA Range Safety Officer candidates should be experienced shooters involved in target shooting, training, and range supervision. The NRA encourages active shooters to learn more and become responsible for the safety of fellow shooters through this program. At the successful completion of the class, you will be able to apply to and receive your NRA Range Safety Officer Certificate.
