This beginning course with no prerequisite is designed to provide students the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for safe pistol shooting. Students learn the NRA's rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals and positions, range rules, cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules card, NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and course completion certificate. Includes MD firearms law lesson to apply for a MD Handgun Qualification License. This course is prerequisite to our MD Wear and Carry (Handgun Permit) class. Includes range fee.
