The NRA Range Safety Officer Course provides students with the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations. This full-day course is a non-shooting, classroom only course. Range Safety Officer candidates will learn the roles and responsibilities of an RSO, Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), range rules, range briefings, emergency procedures, firearm stoppages and malfunctions. You will also practice conducting Range Safety Briefings which include procedures to follow in the event of an emergency. This course is open to those 21 years of age and older.
