This course teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, promoting, & teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting course & is presented in two parts: Basic Instructor Training (BIT) on Friday & Pistol Instructor training on Saturday. Pre-requisites: (1.) basic firearm safety and shooting skills (2.) Successful completion of NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course. Prior to the instructor training, you will complete a pre-course questionnaire, which will be sent via email after you register for the course. You will demonstrate organizational & teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course. Practical exercises include the following: loading/unloading (SA revolver, DA revolver, & semi-automatic); clearing common pistol stoppages; shooting qualification; & taking a written test.
