Pre-requisite: Must be a current NRA Personal Protection In the Home instructor as a pre-requisite for certification as an NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home instructor. This certification is not available to Apprentice or Assistant Pistol Instructors, and the Law Enforcement Division Handgun Instructor is not a substitute.
You will learn how to plan and conduct the NRA Basics of Personal Protection Outside the Home course. You will need a personal handgun suitable for outside the home personal defense (revolvers .38SPCL minimum, semi-autos 9mm or .380 minimum). You must have a strong-side inside-the-waist band (IWB) or outside-the-waist band (OWB) holster with good retention and a concealment garment. You must have completed the NRA Basics of PPOtH course (register at https://courses.shootdabull.com/OTHMAR25) and be a current NRA Certified PPItH instructor with current BIT.
