This beginning course with no prerequisite is designed to provide students the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for safe pistol shooting. Students learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals and positions, range rules, cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development. Hands-on firearms training is provided by volunteer NRA Certified Instructors with individual coaching while learning to shoot and improve marksmanship. Students are encouraged to bring their own firearms, or they can use Chapter and Instructor firearms. .38 Spl and 9 mm ammunition is provided. Students receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules card, NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and course completion certificate. Snacks, lunch, and beverages are provided. Nonrefundable $50 deposit. Email will follow with additional details and payment info.
